It’s been another turbulent week in the cyber world, with breaches hitting critical industries from food logistics to healthcare. Each week, I’ll be breaking down the most serious cyber incidents across the globe — not just for headlines, but so we can all better understand how these attacks are evolving.

UNFI Ransomware Attack Disrupts U.S. Grocery Supply Chain
United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI), a leading distributor to grocery giants including Whole Foods, was forced to shut down critical systems after a ransomware attack on June 5. The incident halted deliveries nationwide, leaving shelves empty and disrupting operations across the U.S. food supply chain. While systems are gradually being restored, the breach highlights the fragile intersection between digital infrastructure and real-world essentials.

Ticketmaster Breach Grows to 560 Million+ Users
A threat actor operating under the alias “ShinyHunters” claims to have stolen the personal data of more than 560 million Ticketmaster users, including names, emails, phone numbers, and partial payment details. The breach was allegedly made possible by compromising a third-party Snowflake-hosted cloud environment, and Live Nation has confirmed ongoing investigations. Experts say the data is already being offered for sale on major dark web forums.

LockBit Cripples Texas Healthcare Network
A healthcare network in East Texas was forced to redirect emergency patients and shut down IT services after suffering a LockBit ransomware attack last week. The attack disrupted access to patient records, internal communications, and appointment scheduling. This marks another critical blow to U.S. healthcare infrastructure, with patient care directly affected and incident response teams scrambling to contain the damage.

Kuwait Oil Company Employee Records Leaked
Hackers reportedly exfiltrated sensitive HR and payroll data from Kuwait Oil Company — one of the largest energy providers in the region. The breach was attributed to compromised VPN credentials and resulted in internal documents being published online. This raises renewed concern over credential hygiene in critical infrastructure sectors and the escalating threat to oil and gas firms in the Middle East.

DDoS Tsunami Hits EU DNS Providers
Cloudflare reported a surge in DNS-layer DDoS attacks across European infrastructure, including a high-impact wave targeting fintech and logistics firms. Attack volumes exceeded 200 million requests per second in some cases. These attacks—although not data-destructive—are increasingly being used as extortion tactics or cover for deeper intrusions. It’s another reminder that DNS remains a high-value, underprotected layer in many organisations.
